Friday, December 4 at 7pm: First Friday Dinner, at Payathai Asian Bistro, 5879 South Congress Ave., Atlantis (Lantana). Be sure to RSVP (to make sure there is a seat for you; this place is fairly small) to Barry at 561-964-4360, or you can try the Meetup, though it hasn't always been updated with the current location (it still has the old place last I checked). Payathai is in a shopping plaza on the northwest corner of Congress Ave. and Lantana Road. Obviously, this is a Thai restaurant. If you choose, the food can be spicy. |

Sunday, December 6 at 5:30pm: First Sunday Dinner–Blue Front Bar & Grill (561-833-6651; http://www.mybluefront.com/menu.html), 1132 N. Dixie Hwy., Lake Worth. Who knew? This eatery has been serving the Palm Beaches for 50 years! Mostly known for its famous BBQ sauce and down home cooking -- mac'n'cheese, ribs, sweet potato pie, fried oreos -- but I will be craving their creative cocktails. The Blue Hawaiian with orange vodka, blue curacao, and pineapple juice -- I can't help falling in love already. Blue Front Mary is another twist on the Bloody Mary. Then there's the Blue Margarita and the Jamaican Crawler. Who needs food? RSVP by noon December 5 to |

Thursday, December 10 at 6pm: Movable Feast at La Fontana Pizzeria, 1201 US 1 #38, North Palm Beach. More than a pizza place - it features Bosnian specialties! To quote them: "We can write novels to tell you how our lives unfolded and how this immigrant Bosnian & Croatian family ended up in this little corner of the world. But that's a long story, but please feel free to ask us. We hope to bring you not just a great meal, cooked with passion but an experience fueled with vibrant Mediterranean energy in a setting of a family ~ the same way we do in our own homes. And let there be food! And bottomless decanters of delicious vino!" The restaurant is located in Crystal Tree Plaza, a large place that includes tables around, of course, a fountain. (RSVP Amy, aesdth@yahoo.com or see Meetup.) |

Saturday, December 19, 7:00 pm: Annual Winter Solstice Party at 5230 Lakefront Blvd., Delray Beach. The 2015 Winter Solstice will occur the day after our party on December 20. So we will celebrate early. Because we are still a growing crowd, we will meet in the Clubhouse of my development--more room to stretch out--and there is the pool if anyone is interested in welcoming/celebrating the Solstice in bathing suit attire. New this year also is a $5 per person contribution to the party incidentals. Holiday Treats: Appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages will be served. Please bring your favorite holiday specialty to share--cookies, appetizers, drinks, salads, etc.--we love homemade goodies and it makes our holiday table much more festive! Gimme Grabbag Rules (such as they are!): If you want to participate, bring a $10.00 new unisex gift, wrapped. You can watch for free. All gifts go into a pile & everyone who wants to play gets a random number. Number 1 goes first, selects a wrapped gift, and opens it for all to see. Number 2 has a decision to make: either select another wrapped gift or take Number 1's gift. Number 1 then gets to select another gift. Another example: If we have 30 participants--Number 25 has 24 unwrapped gifts to select from and 6 unknowns. This gets competitive and mysterious...Directions: from I-95: Atlantic Avenue exit in Delray Beach; west; cross over Congress Avenue; continue to Military Trail; right or north on Military Trail; at second traffic signal, Lakefront Blvd., left or west into Highpoint, Sections 1 & 2; continue to second stop sign; Clubhouse is on your left, big building with parking lot. Come on in!! Address is 5230 Lakefront Blvd., for those who GPS. and some rules may change at the whim of the ringmistress. The more participants we have the better. Elissa Rudolph, 561-703-9898, elissa12@bellsouth.net. RSVP by Dec. 18. (See Meetup.) |

Tuesday, December 22 at noon: Lunch Bunch at Trevini Ristorante, 290 Sunset Ave, Palm Beach. It looks like a fancy place in Palm Beach, and it is, but there's a special $20 prix-fixe lunch. Parking on the street on Sunset and Sunrise - and in the Publix lot if you stop and shop there (with valet parking while you're picking up some caviar or champagne). (RSVP Amy, aesdth@yahoo.com or see Meetup) |
