Saturday, June 3. SNORKEL IN JOHN PENNEKAMP PARK - Key Largo. Their boat takes us out to two or three sites, depending on weather and crowdedness. We're considering a private catamaran from one of the motels, but will decide on that in early May. Cost will be approximately $40.00 per person. The boats all have loaner snorkels, masks and fins. Contact Ruby Allman, 954-961-7334. Some folks who go on Sunday also may want to stay over. Discuss with Ruby. |

Sunday, June 4. KAYAK TO LIGNUM VITAE (around, not onto) and then over to Indian Key, the original County Seat for what used to be Dade County (from Key West to Jupiter). We meet at a central point for car-pooling and then go down to approximately MM 80, at the outfitter, where we've done this outing several times. Afterward, OAK will serve lunch at a picnic area at the outfitter. You can also watch the several hundred tarpon fish (up to 8 feet long!) off the dock angling for food from the tourists (and you?). This is a great trip, and enjoyable each time. Especially when we don't confuse which islands we're going to. Cost is anticipated at $55.00 per Member, $60.00 per Non-Member, which includes kayak and accessories, lunch, and leadership. Contact Jordan London, 954-961-8286. |
