Palm Beach County Mensa Calendar of Events - June, 2002
Mensa events are open to all Mensans, their spouses, children and guests. Who may or may not attend a private home is at the host's discussion. Hosts: Please mention any special concerns about your location, such as smoking restrictions, limited access for the handicapped, or presence of pets. Guests: If you have any special needs or restrictions, please check with your host before attending an event.
Notice! Our group has merged its calendar with the one from the Broward group and some events from Miami. The icon in the rightmost column of the event indicates what group(s) are hosting that activity (B for Broward, M for Miami, P for Palm Beach County). See the legends at the bottom of this page for an explanation of other icons that may appear in this column. Most phone numbers for Broward events will be area code 954, for Miami, 305.

Sunday, June 9th. OUTDOOR SIG Snorkel at Biscayne National Underwater Park. Sleep in Sunday morning, then join OAK for a day of fun. $30.00/person for OAK members and Mensans ($37.00/person for others), which includes gear (mask, snorkel, inflatable collar, and fins). Monday, June 10th. TURTLE WALK, 9 pm at Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, Boca Raton. This annual awareness event showcases the loggerhead turtles who come to lay their eggs along a 10-mile stretch of beach in Boca Raton. Between May and July the naturalists lead groups to learn and watch the mama turtles do what they are compelled to do. There's no guarantee that our group will sight a turtle. Talking with guides, watching a video, and perhaps releasing baby loggerheads into the surf may be our consolation prize. Gumbo Limbo is located just north of Palmetto Park Blvd. on AIA.
